The Conference on the Future of Europe provides you with a unique opportunity to debate on Europe’s challenges and priorities. This is the place to think together about the future you want for the European Union. You can share your ideas directly online, join ongoing discussions, create or attend citizen’s events or represent us at a European citizen panel. All EU institutions have committed to following up on the recommendations, so this is your chance to share your ideas about what the future should look like. The Conference runs across all EU countries until April 2022.

Start or sign a European Citizen Initiative

European Citizens' Initiatives offer a unique way for you to shape EU decisions by calling on the European Commission to act and propose new legislative initiatives. The ECI allows citizens to collect one million signatures from citizens in any EU country on any policy area in which the EU is active. Keen to see more action on lowering pollution? Do you have a ground-breaking idea to improve transport in cities? Or are you concerned about access to the internet in rural areas? These are just a handful of examples of directions in which you can push the Commission to act. Make sure to also check out ongoing initiatives and sign the ones that you think will make a difference.
Petition the European Parliament

Petitions empower you to directly communicate to the European Parliament your concerns on the way EU laws affect you or the extent in which EU institutions are responding to your concerns. The Parliament is obliged by law to respond to all petitions received, provide solutions and transmit your thoughts to relevant EU services. You can also support ongoing petitions and directly participate in the discussions with Members of the European Parliament.

European elections are your chance to decide on the future direction of the EU. If you are a citizen of an EU country, you automatically have the right to vote in EU elections. These are organised every 5 years and give you the opportunity to elect your representatives to the European Parliament.
